Tribal Wars Stats

Feature: Interview: Mimelim (TW Mod)
The following interview was conducted by 'AnAliasofAnAlias'. Mimelim is a longtime player of Tribalwars after playing World 1 as part of the tribe Tribalwar (now Tribes Vengeance). Mimelim is also an elder moderator for the Tribalwars forums.

AnAliasofAnAlias: K, so how did you first find about TW? When did you start playing?

Mimelim: I found out about TW.net through some friends on Tribalwar.com. About 400 of us came over a couple of months into W1. I first started playing in K53 in W1.

AnAliasofAnAlias: Your in TV on W1, right

Mimelim: Yep, and TW and T/W before that

AnAliasofAnAlias: Any Memorable Experinces in those tribes?

Mimelim: Coordinated strikes, long tactical discussions going into the early hours of the mornings, the list goes on. I think the most memorable experience would have to be the Destny "war". Well, it wasn't much of a war, it was 500 TW players anihilating an entire tribe, all launching within the same 5 minutes, I tell you, the game is different now, and its a good thing, I like it personally, but it isn't the same as it used to be.

AnAliasofAnAlias: Is it cause of the recent 4.0. update?

Mimelim: Oh no, the changes really started after W1 with the member caps. In W1, tribes had 500+ members, it was a different game entirely.

AnAliasofAnAlias: Ahh, well, they keep getting lower, whats your opinon on familys then?

Mimelim: Family tribes... Well, I really have no strong emotions toward them. I consider them an acceptable form of playing this game. It's hard to run a tribe, its even harder to run a couple of them together. TW proved that you could if you wanted to do it, but its hard. I will say though, and I'll be the first TW player to say this, I'm glad they put in the member caps. It was a wise move. Personally, I'd like to see the number come down to about 20. And then have more diplomacy.

AnAliasofAnAlias: 20? Bit too low in my opinon . Anyways, moving on, how did you become a mod? Were you asked or did you ask?

Mimelim: TW.net sent out a mass mail to everyone saying they needed more staff. I responded immediately. It took them a few months, but eventually Hoodoo gave me a quick interview. She asked me about my background and what not about the rule breaking in the past. This was around December 2007.

AnAliasofAnAlias: Your one of the most-liked mods on TW. What are your opinons on some of the other staff?

Mimelim: The staff are great. I know that everyone claims that mods will always stick up for each other no matter what and you can't get an honest response. But I have a reputation of being a straight shooter and so I hope that people will take my words to heart. All of them are great. I have had issues in the past with some of them. Heck, I STILL have issues with some of them, but they are ideological differences more than anything and I certainly understand and respect all of them. I won't name any names because I don't want to leave any of them out, but people sometimes forget how many hours a lot of them give to this community every week.

AnAliasofAnAlias: How long have you been moding?

Mimelim: 5 years ago I was an admin of a medium sized (300 member) anime site that my girlfriend ran. That was the first time I had experience with moderating a forum, that lasted almost 2 years. I've been modding TW.net for 4 months now.

AnAliasofAnAlias: Well, you've obviously seen some stuff on the forums. What are some memorable moments for you?

Mimelim: P&P has to get a mention here. I've always sucked at photoshop and propaganda in general, but I always love watching people go at it. W1, W8, and W12 have been hotbeds for P&P and I have loved every minute of it. I guess I'd also say arguing with people the merits of TW in W1 also. We've never really been popular. Wrote up very very long posts in threads that ended up being dozens of pages long. Waste of time? Yes. Fun? You bet. Some of you may remember the recent Krakken vs. Burns case on W12. People may not know this, but burns is my real life brother, so naturally I got inolved. =P

AnAliasofAnAlias: Wow, well, i have one more question, what worlds do you play (besides W1) and what are your opinons on the top tribes in them?

Mimelim: I don't play any worlds currently, I haven't played W1 in the past 3 months.

AnAliasofAnAlias: How come? Didn't you play W12 with Vpar?

Mimelim: I played W12 for two months after it first started. Vpar and I had a fake battle between the two of us. We made it look like to the rest of the world that we were going at it (we were the #1 and #2 in the world) but in reality, I was quitting the world and was letting him noble off my villages. vpar and I had been talking since the beginning of the world and I knew that when I quit, I would want him to have my villages.

AnAliasofAnAlias: this question is for me, do you guys get paid =P

Mimelim: Some of the staff are paid employees of InnoGames. They are generally the upper group among the staff. The rest of us get some perks, but no cash payments or anything. I don't get paid, no. We do get premium for our account on any worlds that we are playing. Innogames sent us all nice Christmas gifts too
