Tribal Wars Stats

Guide: Graphical Package user guide
There are three ways to use the Graphics Pack for Tribalwars:

Before using any method, you will have to extract the graphics pack files to a folder on your hard drive. To keep it simple, I suggest C:/Tribalwars.

After extracting the files, you should have the following folders in C:/Tribalwars:

/visual/
/visual_night/
/ally_rights/
/big_buildings/
/buildings/
/command/
/dots/
/forum/
/help/
/lang/
/map/
/overview/
/premium/
/richtung/
/screen/
/stat/
/ticket/
/unit/
/unit_big/

Don't worry if you don't have all these folders - some graphics packs and/or servers may not use all of them.

Method one: Local linking - Works in IE7, Firefox

In Internet Explorer Seven:

Go on to Settings->Settings

Under the graphical pack section, enter the following for the Path to Graphical package:

file://C:/Tribalwars

If your graphics pack has a custom .css file, enter the path to it under the 'Path to CSS file' textbox. For example:

file://C:/Tribalwars/stamm.css

Then, go on to Tools->Internet options, and click on the 'Security' tab.

Then, click on the 'Trusted Sites' green tick image, and then on the 'Sites' button below.

A dialog will come up. Make sure that the 'Require server verification' checkbox is NOT checked (this is located at the bottom of the dialog)

Under 'Add a website', enter the URL to the server that you are playing on. Some example of this are:

http://tw2.tribalwars.net
http://tw3.tribalwars.net
http://tw1.tribalwars.net
http://tw1b.tribalwars.net:8080

You can find this out by looking at the address bar while you are playing.

Click on Add to add the site to the list.

Close the dialogs, and refresh the TW page. Your graphics pack should now be enabled!

For Firefox:

First, you need to change some firefox settings. Firefox needs to be closed to do this, so make sure you close it now.

You need to locate your firefox install folder. This is normally C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\, but it may differ depending on your computer.

Once you're in the firefox directory, open the greprefs folder and look for all.js. Right click on it, then click on 'Open With->Choose Program'. Fine notepad or wordpad, and click on Open.

Once you've opened up the file, scroll right down to the bottom of the file and paste the following in to it:

pref("capability.policy.policynames", "localfilelinks");
pref("capability.policy.localfilelinks.sites", "http://tw2.tribalwars.net");
pref("capability.policy.localfilelinks.checkloaduri.enabled", "allAccess");

Note: You must replace the part that says 'http://tw2.tribalwars.net' with the address of the game world that you play on. Some examples of these are:

http://tw2.tribalwars.net
http://tw3.tribalwars.net
http://tw1.tribalwars.net
http://tw1b.tribalwars.net:8080

You can find this out by looking at the address bar while you are playing.

Once you have entered the three lines, close the file and load up firefox. Log in, and go to Settings->Settings.

Under the graphical pack section, enter the following for the Path to Graphical package:

file://C:/Tribalwars

If your graphics pack has a custom .css file, enter the path to it under the 'Path to CSS file' textbox. For example:

file://C:/Tribalwars/stamm.css

Click OK, and your graphics pack should be activated.

Method two: Local webserver

This will work on all browsers. It basically means that you will install a webserver on your computer, that accepts file requests when its running. For example,
you would run the webserver and then be able to view a website thats stored on your local computer by going to http://localhost.

There are a number of webservers that you can use, that range in complexity. The german TW wiki recomends http://www.aidex.de/software/webserver/download.html,
however this server is in german.

The server that you choose to use is up to you, but if you want a simple easy to use webserver, then I have created an extremely small one just for use with
the graphic pack. This server requires the .NET framework from Microsoft, and windows server 2003 or XP on Service Pack 2. You can download it here.

Save the file to anywhere on your computer, and run it. Now, click on Browse and choose the C:/Tribalwars folder that you created earlier. Click on Start,
and the server will remove itself from sight and an icon will appear in your taskbar.

Now, log in to TW and go to Settings->Settings.

Under the graphical pack section, enter the following for the Path to Graphical package:

http://localhost

If your graphics pack has a custom .css file, enter the path to it under the 'Path to CSS file' textbox. For example:

http://localhost/stamm.css

Click OK, and your graphics pack should be activated.

Method three: External webserver

This method will work on all browsers. Simpily upload the graphics pack folder to an external webserver. You can get free webspace from many sites, simpily
search on google for 'free webhosting'.

Then, go on to Settings->Settings.

Under the graphical pack section, enter the following for the Path to Graphical package:

http://yourwebsite.com/Tribalwars

If your graphics pack has a custom .css file, enter the path to it under the 'Path to CSS file' textbox. For example:

http://yourwebsite.com/Tribalwars/stamm.css

Click OK, and your graphics pack should be activated.
